Refraction in Water Droplets
Raindrops refract and disperse light. The brilliant colours can also be observed in pendant droplets or dew droplets on leaves. Depending on the direction of the light source, the colours may belong to higher order bows. This is why the colours occasionally appear on the front surface of the droplet.
