Red Rainbow on August 10th, 2008
On the evening of August 10th, 2008, the sky took on spectacular colours after sunset. A look in the opposite direction revealed an intense red rainbow with a secondary bow. The intense reddening of the western sky is due to the zero order glow. Not all rays get reflected inside the raindrops, many traverse it and contribute to a diffuse glow opposite the rainbow.
