Sunset Pollen Corona
On the evening of May 12th the pollen coronae were not as intense as the day before. Nevertheless, this red sunset corona was an impressive sight. Shortly beforehand a thin and intensely green line lit up on the upper border of a cloud as seen visually. However, the green patch on the photo is a ghost image. Nikon D80, unprocessed compressed image, 1/500 sec at f/5.6, 400 ISO. The focal length was 135 mm, corresponding to 202 mm in 135 mm format. The solar elevation was 2.3°. The sun seemed elongated in the vertical direction.
