Evening Sky on June 29th, 2009
Despite numerous reports about purple sunsets all over the world after the eruption of the Sarychev volcano in Matua Island (Kurils) on June 12th, the Trier skies remained remarkably grey, given the seasonal high humidity. Nevertheless a closer look revealed unusual cloud ripples that could well be due to aerosols like volcanic ash and sulfur compounds. Nikon D90, processed with Adobe Photoshop Elements.
