Night Sky in December 2006
The night sky above Trier on December 15th, 2006. The fog covering the valley in the northwest direction is lit from below by distant street lights. The reddening of the horizon is probably due to haze and reflected light rather than aurorae occuring that night. The reddening was visible all night long with the bare eye. Nikon D80, processed with Adobe Photoshop Elements.
