Bishop's Ring on July 9th, 2010
On the evening of July 9th, 2010, large brownish aureoles around the sun could be observed, resembling those of April 2010. This time the phenomenon was not related to volcanic ash It was produced by Sahara dust in the atmosphere - at an elevation between 5000 and 8000 meters, possibly also local dust after an intense drought.
