Snow Blanket Halo on February 20th, 2012
Sunlit snow and hoar frost crystals produce a myriad of coloured blinks. On even surfaces like these frozen lakes, with a little luck halos can be observed, mostly 22° and 46° halos. The images were taken at the Weinfelder and the Schalkenmehren Maar. Leica M8.2, Elmar-M 24mm f/3.8 ASPH (above) and Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21mm f/4 ASPH (below), processed with Adobe Photoshop CS5.
